All our futons have different fillings and special materials in the core. Which can change your sleeping comfort in many ways. Below we briefly talk about the different types of futons we have in ours assortment.
Comfort futon
Our Comfort futon is a 15 cm thick cotton mattress with a PU foam core. Our futons have a higher density and thickness than a traditional Japanese futon mattress, but they still have all the good qualities of a traditional futon. The Comfort futon gives you medium-firm sleeping comfort. The cotton in the futon adapts to the contours of your body and supports it, and the foam core isolates small movements.
Traditional futon
Our Traditional futon is a 13 cm thick cotton mattress. Our futons have a higher density and thickness than traditional Japanese futon mattresses, but they still have all the good qualities of a traditional Japanese futon. The Traditional futon will give you firm sleeping comfort. The cotton in the futon will conform to your body and support it.
Basic futon
Our Basic futon is an 11 cm thick cotton mattress with a PU foam core. Our futons have a higher density and thickness than a traditional Japanese futon mattress, but they still have all the good qualities of a traditional futon. The Basic futon gives you medium-firm sleeping comfort. The cotton in the futon adapts to your body and supports it, and the foam core isolates small movements.
Coco futon
Our Coco futon is a 16 cm thick cotton mattress with a core of a coconut fiber sheet. Our futons have a higher density and thickness than a traditional Japanese futon mattress, but they still have all the good qualities of a traditional futon. The Coco futon gives you medium-soft sleeping comfort. The cotton in the futon adapts to your body, and the coconut sheet supports it.
Double latex futon
Our Double-latex futon is an 18 cm thick cotton mattress with a latex foam core. Our futons have a higher density and thickness than a traditional Japanese futon mattress, but they still have all the good qualities of a traditional futon. The double-latex futon gives you a soft sleeping surface. The cotton in the futon adapts to your body and supports it, and the latex isolates all movements.
Sandwich futon
Our Sandwich futon is a 16 cm thick cotton mattress with a latex foam core and a coconut fiber sheet. Our futons have a higher density and thickness than a traditional Japanese futon mattress, but they still have all the good qualities of a traditional futon. The sandwich futon gives you medium-soft sleeping comfort. The cotton in the futon adapts to your body, the coconut sheet supports it, and the soft latex foam in the core isolates small movements.
Triple latex futon
Our Triple latex futon is an 18 cm thick cotton and wool mattress with a core of latex foam and horsehair. Since we have added 5-10% polyester to our cotton material, our futon has a higher density and thickness than a traditional Japanese futon. However, it still has the same excellent qualities as the traditional Japanese futon. With this Triple latex futon you achieve a soft sleeping surface. The cotton in the futon adapts to the contours of the body and provides support, wool helps to create a good climate, the latex insulates all movements, while the horsehair insulates against cold and at the same time channels heat and moisture away.
Mattresses for sofa beds
The filling in our sofa bed mattresses are all the same. The only difference is the size and thickness of the sofa beds' mattresses.
We use leftovers from the production of textiles and give them new life and a new purpose by using them in our futon sofa bed mattresses.
When you buy a Karup Design sofa bed, you should know that the filling of the futon mattress is leftover fabric from textile production. A core of polyfoam in the mattress makes the comfort more firm when you sit and sleep. The residual material consists of cotton, polyester, threads and fabric residues and has been tested according to TÜV
